Denver Basic Income Project Donate

The Denver Basic Income Project is giving basic income to individuals experiencing homelessness with the goal of building a healthier society grounded in social justice and centered around improving human thriving. Our society can do better than our current social safety net. This project is possible through the generosity of private donors, corporate leaders and caring foundations.

To best pursue our mission, we have established the Denver Basic Income Fund as a Special Purpose Fund (SPF) to support the Denver Basic Income Project. The fund and the project are both a part of Impact Charitable (a 501c3) that specializes in deploying capital for the greater social good. On this page, you can make a donation to the Denver Basic Income Fund which is fully tax deductible.

We think Nelson Mandela said it well. "There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way in which it treats its children."

We are deeply grateful and appreciate whatever you choose and are able to give to Kompassion. ♥

The Ed Gowdy Fund Donate

As you all know, our friend and brother Ed Gowdy always had a passion for the outdoors, the arts, horticulture and, of course, having a damn good time. In his memory, we have established The Ed Gowdy Fund to memorialize Ed and celebrate his passions.

The Ed Gowdy Fund is a donor advised fund (DAF) implemented through Impact Charitable. A DAF allows donors to make a charitable contribution and receive an immediate tax benefit. Then, the trustees of the fund can distribute grants from the fund to selected non-profit projects over time. Impact Charitable will invest most of the money we contribute in impact related initiatives and leave a portion liquid (not invested) at our request to make grants. Over time, the fund and the amount available to grant out will grow.

Tigray Community Center Donate

For the past 17 months there's been distress and war in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. This has caused a vast amount of immigration. Currently, that entire region is in lockdown, there's no internet and no communication going in/out of the region, and there's been known to be mass rape and genocide happening. In the last 17 months, 500,000 people have died due to war, including massacre, lack of medicine and manmade starvation.

In Denver, CO there are 70,000 Ethiopians, and half of them are part of the Tigray Ethiopian Community Foundation. There are problems with the Tigray youth with mental health and getting in trouble with the law due to the war happening in Ethiopia and the lack of communication. The Tigray Ethiopian Community Foundation is in need of support to help the youth within our community.

The community foundation owns one acre of land with a one-room schoolhouse that needs around $20,000 - $30,000 to repair in order to make a community center. This is an immediate need.
